Hip 1021, a son of Uncle Mo consigned by Julie Davies LLC, Agent, was sold to Marc Tacher for $375,000 to top the final session of the 2024 OBS June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age.   • Hip 1017, a daughter of Vekoma consigned by Hidden Brook, Agent was purchased by Swinbank Stables for $330,000.   • Hip 1009, a daughter of Munnings consigned by Hoppel LLC, Agent, went to Mary Thomas for $120,000.   • Hip 1111, Fantomah, led the way in the Horses of Racing Age section. The 3-year-old daughter of Distorted Humor consigned by Boutte Sales, Agent, was sold to Stone Base for $135,000. The bay filly, who galloped at Sunday’s Under Tack session, is a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Prince of Jericho out of Medaglia d’Oro.  walk/breeze video

For the session, 170 two-year-olds sold for a total of $6,347,900 compared with 199 grossing $8,442,800 at last year’s third session. The average was $37,341, compared with $42,426 a year ago, while the median price was $20,000, compared to $25,000 in 2023. The buyback percentage was 21.6%; it was 18.1% last year.

Fourteen older horses sold for $343,500, averaging $24,536 with a $12,000 median price.

For the entire sale, 582 two-year-olds sold for $21,386,800, compared with 640 bringing $24,051,900 last year.  The average was $36,747, compared to 2023’s $37,581, while the median price was $20,000 identical to last year. The buyback percentage was 19.7%; it was 16.3% last year.

Two horses consigned by Tom McCrocklin, Agent, shared honors as the overall sale toppers.

Hip 187, a daughter of Tiz the Law, went to Bill Childs for $400,000 to top Wednesday’s session. The dark bay or brown filly, whose quarter in :20 2/5 at Wednesday’s Under Tack session was the sale’s co-fastest at the distance, is a half sister to grade one stakes placed stakes winner Esplanande, out of Southern Silence, by Dixie Union.  walk/breeze video

Hip 509, Brown Sugar, a daughter of Twirling Candy, went to Resolute Bloodstock for $400,000 to top he second session. The bay filly, whose Under Tack quarter in :20 2/5 on Thursday was the sale’s co-fastest, is a full sister to Preakness (G1) winner Rombauer, out of Cashmere, by Cowboy Cal.  walk/breeze video
