OBS June Sale catalog now online

The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2024 June Two-Year-Olds in Training & Horses of Racing Age Sale is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com. The sale and under tack show were each shifted to start one day earlier than originally scheduled to allow inspection and travel time for those attending Belmont Stakes weekend held at Saratoga this year.

A total of 994 horses, including 980 two-year-olds and 14 Horses of Racing Age, are in the main catalog for the three-day sale, set for Wednesday, June 12th through Friday, June 14th, with all sessions beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Hips 1 – 350 (2YO) will sell on Wednesday and Hips 351 – 700 (2YO) on Thursday. On Friday, Hips 701 – 980 plus supplements (2YO) and Hips 1101 – 1114 plus supplements (HRA) will be offered for sale.  The deadline for supplemental entries is May 22nd, 2024 at noon.

The Under Tack Show will span six days: Tuesday, June 4th through Sunday, June 9th, with all sessions beginning at 7:30 a.m. The Hip Number breakdown will be announced following the closing of supplemental entries.

As always, the Under Tack Show and Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the TDN, DRF and Blood-Horse, and Past The Wire websites.

The catalog covers are a testament to the quality of OBS June Sale graduates, showcased by OBS June graduate two-time Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Goldencents’ son Mystic Dan’s thrilling victory in the Kentucky Derby (G1). The front cover features Michael Lund Petersen’s Adare Manor (Uncle Mo – Brooklynsway), recent winner of the $1,250,000 Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) at Oaklawn Park. It was the second grade one victory for the 5-year-old mare by Uncle Mo, a six-time graded stakes winner with a 16-8 -5-0 career record and $1,736,600 in earnings for trainer Bob Baffert.  At the 2021 OBS June Sale, she was purchased for $375,000 out of the Julie Davies consignment by Donato Lanni, Agent, after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. watch her under tack video       June Sale walking video

War Like Goddess Coglianese

George Krikorian’s nine-time graded stakes winning multimillionaire War Like Goddess (English Channel – Misty North) is on the back cover. Her resume includes a win in Saratoga’s Flower Bowl (G1), two straight victories in Aqueduct’s Joe Hirsch Turf Classic (G1), three straight scores in Keeneland’s Bewitch (G3), two wins in the Glens Falls (G2) at Saratoga and a victory in Gulfstream’s Orchid (G3). Bill Mott trains the 7-year-old daughter of English Channel, now 18-11-2-2 with $2,535,184 earnings. Consigned to the 2019 OBS June Sale by Hemingway Racing and Training Stables, she was sold for $30,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. watch her under tack video

On the board seven times in graded stakes, D.J. Stable LLC’s Webslinger (Constitution – Arana) is shown winning the American Turf Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs. The 4-year-old son of Constitution was purchased for $50,000 out of the Blue River Bloodstock consignment at the June Sale after speeding three eighths in :33 1/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Mark Casse, he was third in the Turf Classic Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs on Derby Day, leaving him with a 16-4-4-4 record and $1,265,320 in earnings.  watch his under tack video        June Sale walking video

Alexandres, LLC’s Il Miracolo (Gun Runner – Tapit’s World) served notice he was a serious horse with a victory in the Smarty Jones (G3) at Parx in August. Since then, he’s been on the board in six graded stakes including a win in the Ghostzapper Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park. The 4-year-old son of Gun Runner, trained by Antonio Sano, has compiled a 20-4-5-4 record to date and has earned $726,635. The online catalog’s main page contains a link to a sortable master index providing searchable pedigree and consignor information as well as access to pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed. Under Tack videos, walking videos, photos, and past performances are also available.

The iPad version of the catalog can be accessed via the equineline Sales Catalog App. The App allows users to download and view the catalog, receive updates and results, record notes and also provides innovative search, sort and rating capability.
