OBS Spring Sale Catalog now online

The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2024 Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com.

A total of 1,207 juveniles have been cataloged for the four-day sale, now set for Tuesday through Friday, April 16th – 19th. All sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m.

  • Hip No 1 – 302 will sell Tuesday, April 16th
  • Hip No. 303 – 604 will be sold Wednesday, April 17th
  • Hip No. 605 – 906 will sell Thursday, April 18th
  • Hip No. 907 – 1208 will be sold Friday, April 19th

The Under Tack Show will be divided into seven sessions, set for Sunday through Saturday, April 7th – April 13th, all beginning at 8:00 a.m.

  • Sunday, April 7: Hip No. 1 – 173
  • Monday, April 8: Hip No. 174 – 345
  • Tuesday, April 9: Hip No. 346- 518
  • Wednesday, April 10: Hip No. 519 – 690
  • Thursday, April 11: Hip No. 691 – 863
  • Friday, April 12: Hip No. 864 – 1035
  • Saturday, April 13: Hip No. 1036 – 1208

Zedan Racing Stables, Inc.’s Arabian Knight is a two-time graded stakes winner, taking Del Mar’s $1,000,000 Pacific Classic Stakes (G1) in frontrunning style. The Uncle Mo colt, trained by Bob Baffert, has compiled a 5-3-0-1 record and has earned $1,544,275. Bob Baffert also trains Zedan Racing’s Arabian Lion, winner of the $400,000 Woody Stephens Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park. The colt by Justify, a two-time graded stakes winner, is now 9-3-2-1 and has earned $498,100. Natalie J. Baffert and Debbie Lanni’s Du Jour crossed the million-dollar mark with his recent victory in the Santa Anita’s $300,000 Frank E. Kilroe Mile Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita. It was the third graded win for the son of Temple City, trained by Bob Baffert, now 17-6-3-2 career record with $1,118,220 in earnings. At the 2020 OBS Spring Sale, he breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 and was purchased for $280,000 out of the Off the Hook consignment by Donato Lanni, Agent.  Spring Sale walking video         watch his under tack video

Pierre Jean Amestoy, Jr., Leslie A. Amestoy and Roger K. Beasley’s Practical Move was a three-time graded stakes winner, the last a victory in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) for trainer Tim Yakteen. The 2022 OBS Spring Sale graduate, purchased for $230,000 out of the Eisaman Equine consignment after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5, had an 8-5-1-2 record and earned $923,200 at the races.

Saudi Crown

FMQ Stables’ Saudi Crown was a wire-to-wire winner of the $1,000,000 Pennsylvania Derby (G1) at Parx in September for trainer Brad Cox. The son of Always Dreaming, 8-4-2-1 with $2,982,085 in earnings, consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent to the 2022 OBS Spring Sale, was sold for $240,000 after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. watch his under tack video   Spring Sale walking video

Buyers will be able to go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS Bidding Screen with their credentials. The Under Tack Show and Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the DRF, TDN, BloodHorse and Past The Wire websites.

The online catalog contains a sortable master index providing searchable pedigree and consignor information as well as access to pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed. Under Tack videos, walking videos and conformation photos are also available.

The iPad version of the catalog can be accessed via the equineline Sales Catalog App. The App allows users to download and view the catalog, receive updates and results, record notes and also provides innovative search, sort and rating capability.
