The Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2024 March Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training begins Wednesday, March 6th.
There are four sessions, with Hips 1 – 213 breezing the first day. Hips 214 – 426 will work Thursday, March 7th, Hips 427 – 639 will breeze on Friday, March 8th, with Hips 640 – 853 going to the track on Saturday, March 9th. All four sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. Under Tack Show results are posted on the OBS website.
A total of 849 juveniles are cataloged for the three-day sale, including 41 two year olds for the complete dispersal of prominent breeding and racing Lothenbach Stables, Inc.
The sale is set for Tuesday March 12th through Thursday March 14th, with all sessions starting at 11:00 a.m. Hips 1 – 284 will sell Tuesday; Hips 285 – 568 on Wednesday and Hips 569 – 853 on Thursday.
The Under Tack Show will be streamed live via the OBS website at obssales.com and via the TDN, DRF, Blood-Horse and Past The Wire websites. The workouts are recorded and can be viewed on the website, in their entirety or by individual hip number. They will also be available in the Video Room at the Sale grounds as well as several kiosks in the breezeway and covered walking ring. Walking videos and conformation photos may be available in addition to under tack videos for each horse. Visitors to Ocala will find the videos available for in-room viewing at The Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn & Suites, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Residence Inn and the Ocala Hilton, plus lounge viewing is available at the Hilton.

Zedan Racing Stables’ Eclipse Award finalist Muth (Good Magic – Hoppa) got the year off to a fast start with a win in Santa Anita’s $200,000 San Vicente Stakes (G2) in January. A winner of the American Pharoah (G1) and second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) and Best Pal (G2) at two, the 3-year-old colt by Good Magic is now 5-3-2-0 for trainer Bob Baffert and has earned $716,600. March alumni Life’s an Audible and R Harper Rose both captured graded stakes in February at Gulfstream Park.
Repole Stable’s Life’s an Audible (Audible – Catkins), secondin the Herecomesthebride on this past Saturday, scored her first stakes win in Gulfstream’s $175,000 Sweetest Chant Stakes (G3) in February. The 3-year-old daughter of Audible was consigned by Britton Peak, Agent, to the 2023 OBS March Sale and sold for $200,000 after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Averill Racing LLC and Two Eight Racing LLC’s R Harper Rose (Khozan – True Bliss) captured the $145,000 Forward Gal Stakes (G3) on the same card for her first graded stakes victory. The 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Khozan, trained by Saffie Joseph, Jr., is now 5-4-1-0 with $344,025 in earnings.
