Halina’s Forte captures Aqueduct’s Ruthless Stakes

Rigney Racing, LLC’s Halina’s Forte (Mitole – Lunarlady) circled horses to reach contention in the stretch of the $100,000 Ruthless Stakes at Aqueduct on Saturday, took command a furlong from home and eased away to score by a length and three quarters. It’s the first stakes victory for the 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by champion OBS graduate Mitole, trained by Philip A. Bauer, now 4-2-2-0 with $149,900 in earnings. She was sold for $130,000 by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), at the 2022 OBS Winter Mixed Sale. January Sale walking video 

West Point Thoroughbreds’ Jaxon Traveler (Munnings – Listen Boy) went right to the front in Sunday’s $100,000 Bill Thomas Memorial Stakes at Sunland Park and never looked back on his way to a three length victory. That’s the sixth stakes win for the 6-year-old son of Munnings, purchased out of the Grassroots Training & Sales consignment at the 2020 OBS Spring Sale for $140,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. Flanagan Racing’s Top Conor (Twirling Candy – Divine Dawn) made his debut for trainer Chad Brown  at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, and passed his first test with flying colors. Tracking the leaders in the early going, the million-dollar OBS March graduate swung wide for the drive, ran past the leaders a sixteenth out and was best by two lengths. Earning $42,000 for his effort, the 3-year-old son of Twirling Candy was purchased for $1,000,000 by Sean Flanagan out of the Eddie Woods consignment at the 2023 OBS March Sale after breezing an eighth in :9 4/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video March Sale walking video
