Screen Door Stables, LLC’s Squints (Khozan – Ephyra), ignored at 28-1 in the $85,000 Juvenile Sprint Stakes, slipped thorough on the inside to go after the leaders in the lane, took over a furlong from home and scored by a length and three quarters. OBS 2023 Spring Sale graduate Big Effect (The Big Beast – Holiday Flare) settled for third. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old Florida-bred colt by Khozan, purchased for $50,000 out of the Journeyman Bloodstock consignment at the 2022 OBS October Yearling Sale. Now 3-2-0-0 for trainer Kelly Breen, he has earned $94,280.

Ernest C. Frohboese’s Chi Chi (Audible – Simply Confection) captured the $60,000 Juvenile Fillies Sprint Stakes, rallying from off the pace, taking charge inside the eighth pole and drawing away to win by 2-3/4 lengths, with OBS January ’22/April ’23 graduate Miss Sayely (Maximus Mischief – Lady Halite) checking in third. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 2-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Audible, trained by Herman Wilensky, now 4-2-0-0 with $71,840 in earnings. Consigned by Stuart Morris, Agent, she went through the ring at the 2022 OBS Winter Mixed Sale.  January Sale walking video
