Blind Spot wins Gulfstream’s Our Dear Peggy Stakes

C2 Racing Stable LLC and Stefania Farms, LLC’s Blind Spot jumped from a maiden victory in August into Gulfstream’s $65,000 Our Dear Peggy Stakes on Saturday, turned in a strong rally down the stretch and was up late to score her first stakes victory by three quarters of a length. Now 3-2-1-0 for trainer Saffie A. Joseph, Jr., the 2-year-old daughter of Cross Traffic has earned $69,050 to date. D.J. Stable LLC’s Webslinger was a maiden going into Saturday’s $510,000 Nownownow Stakes at Monmouth Park, but circled horses on the turn to reach contention, sustained his run down the stretch and was best by half a length at the wire. The 2-year-old colt by Constitution, trained by Mark Casse, is now 3-1-1-0 and has earned $319,600. Jay Em Ess Stable’s Miles Ahead pressed the pace in Saturday’s $265,000 Louisville Thoroughbred Society Stakes at Churchill Downs, battled for the lead down the stretch and was best by a nose in a three-horse photo finish. It’s the third stakes victory for the 5-year-old graded stakes winning gelding by Competitive Edge, purchased for $175,000 out of the Top Line Sales consignment at the 2019 OBS March Sale, after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5.
