October Selected Yearling Sale grad Miss Marissa wins the Delaware Handicap

OBS graduates picked up a pair of stakes wins at Delaware Park on Saturday.

Cammarota Racing LLC’s 2018 OBS October Selected Yearling Sale graduate Miss Marissa took the lead at the start of the $400,000 Delaware Handicap (G2) and never looked back, gamely cruising to victory by a length and a quarter. It’s the second graded stakes win for the 4-year-old filly by He’s Had Enough, purchased for $11,000 out of the Woodford Thoroughbreds consignment. She’s now 16-5-4-1 for trainer Jim Ryerson, and has earned $604,690 to date.  Selected Sale walking video:

 

Marianne Stribling, Force Five Racing LLC and Two Rivers Racing Stable LLC’s Phat Man, last of seven in the early going of the $50,250 Battery Park Stakes, made a big run on the turn, took command after straightening away in the stretch and drew away to a two length victory. It’s the fourth stakes win for the 7-year-old graded stakes winning gelding by Munnings, trained by J. Kent Sweezey, now 35-9-8-2 with $621,609 in earnings. Breeze Easy LLC’s Easy Time sat just off the pace in Woodbine’s $180,000 Marine Stakes (G3) on Sunday, came around horses to reach contention on the turn, took over in the stretch and cruised to a two length score. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Not This Time, who turned in an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5 before he was purchased for $250,000 out of the Ocala Stud consignment at the 2020 OBS June Sale. Mark Norman and Norman Stables LLC’s Shes Our Fastest battled head and head for the lead from the start in the $75,000 Valor Farm Stakes at Lone Star Park on Saturday, took charge in the final furlong and was best by a length and a half. It’s the seventh stakes victory for the 6-year-old daughter of Oratory, trained by Scott Gelner, who has earned $467,427 and compiled a 35-10-7-8 career record. She sped a quarter in :21 flat at the 2017 OBS June Sale Under Tack Show prior to being purchased for $50,000 out of the Stephens Thoroughbreds consignment. watch her under tack video
