Green’s A Thread of Blue went right to the front at the start of Sunday’s inaugural running of the $1,000,000 Saratoga Derby Invitational Stakes, opened a daylight lead leaving the backstretch, turned for home in full command and cruised to the wire a winner by a length. It’s the third stakes victory for the 3-year-old graded stakes winning colt by Hard Spun, trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, now 10-5-2-1 with $879,290 in earnings.
