Steve Laymon, William G. Robbins & Richard F. Broadbent IV’s Lipstick City trailed in the early going of the $75,000 Christmas Past Stakes on the turf at Gulfstream Park on Thursday, but rallied on the inside to reach contention in the stretch, took command a furlong out and drew off to win by 3-1/4 lengths. Fellow OBS graduate Temple Fur (April ’15) checked in third. It’s the second stakes victory for the 4-year-old filly by City Zip, who turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was purchased for $165,000 out of the Niall Brennan Stables consignment at the 2016 OBS March Sale.
