Last after stumbling at the start, the 4-year-old Florida-bred filly by Indy Wind got rolling on the turn, found room between horses to take the lead at the head of the stretch and drew off to win by 2-1/2 lengths. Rockingham Ranch’s Stormy Liberal scored his fourth straight stakes win on Saturday in the $147,000 Daytona Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita, putting his head in front in the stretch and hitting the wire in front by a neck. It’s the first graded stakes win for the 5-year-old son of Stormy Atlantic, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5 before he was purchased for $100,00 out of the Wavertree Stables consignment at the 2014 OBS June Sale.
