Fort to top session three of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2016 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age. The bay filly, who breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show, is out of Simple Symphony, by Consolidator, a half sister to stakes winner Doc Calls Her Kate.
Three horses sold for $190,000.
Hip No. 662, a son of Bellamy Road consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, went to Gary Young, Agent. The dark bay or brown colt, who worked a quarter in :21 4/5 at the Under Tack Show, is a full brother to graded stakes winner Position Limit out of Payable On Demand, by Out of Place.
Susan Moulton purchased Hip No. 761, a chestnut colt by Tapit consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent. Out of grade one stakes winner River’s Prayer, by Devon Lane, he turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5.
Hip No. 840, a bay filly by Hard Spun consigned by Bobby Dodd, Agent, was sold to Mercedes Stables LLC. A half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Amaranth out of stakes winner Shedoesrock, she breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat, co-fastest at the distance at Wednesday’s Under Tack session.
Hip No. 765, Glencairn, a son of Candy Ride (ARG) who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 3/5, was sold to William Werner for $155,000. Consigned by Hidden Brook, Agent, the chestnut colt is out of stakes winner Roan Inish, by Elusive Quality, a half sister to graded stakes placed In Equality.
Bluewater Sales, Agent, paid 140,000 for Hip No. 660, a dark bay or brown filly by Trappe Shot consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent. The half sister to stakes winner Bebhinn, who also worked in :10 flat on Wednesday, is out of Passion Overflow, by Hennessy, a half sister to grade one stakes placed stakes winner Ocean Ridge.
Hip No. 842, a daughter of Giant’s Causeway consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, went to Rockbridge Bloodstock for $115,000. The gray or roan filly, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5, is out of stakes placed Sheraton Park, by Cozzene, a half sister to graded stakes winner Gemswick Park.
For the session, 164 horses grossed $4,096,700, compared with 156 selling for a total of $6,702,500 at last year’s third session. The average was $24,980 compared with $42,965 in 2015 while the median price was $12,000 compared to $18,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 20.8%; it was 23.5% last year.
