It’s the sixth stakes win for the 3-year-old graded stakes winning son of Indian Charlie, trained by Steve Asmussen. Fruition Racing LLC’s Stormdriver saved ground in the early going of Saturday’s 60,000 John Henry Stakes at Evangeline Downs, swung out for the drive and then blew past the leaders on his way to a 5-3/4 length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the 5-year-old son of Discreet Cat, sold by Mecco Sales (Mary Ellen Coenen), Agent, for $36,000 at the 2011 OBS August Sale.
