The colt, Hip No. 719, a son of Blame consigned by All In Sales (Tony Bowling), Agent, went to Jonathan Thomas, Agent for Repole Stable, Inc. The dark bay or brown colt, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 at last Thursday’s Under Tack session, is out of stakes winner Alexandra Rylee, by Afleet Alex.
The daughter of Tizway, Hip No. 856, consigned by King’s Equine, Agent for Spendthrift Farm, was purchased by Conquest Stables LLC. The dark bay or brown filly, who worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat, co-fastest at the distance at last Friday’s Under Tack session, is a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winning OBS graduate Populist Politics, out of stakes placed Cedar Summer, by Souvenir Copy,
Conquest Stables LLC paid $650,000 for Hip No. 692, a bay filly by Lemon Drop Kid consigned by Bobby Dodd, Agent, whose eighth in :9/4/5 was the fastest work at the distance last Thursday. She’s out of graded stakes placed stakes winning OBS graduate Yonagucci, by Yonaguska.
Hip No. 898, a son of Giant’s Causeway consigned by Q Bar J Thoroughbreds, Agent, was sold to Patrice Miller, EQB Inc., Agent for Zayat Stables LLC, for $560,000. The bay colt, who worked an eighth in :10 1/5 at Friday’s Under Tack session, is out of Conniption (IRE), by Danehill Dancer, a daughter of stakes placed Showbiz.
Conquest Stables LLC paid $425,000 for Hip No. 750, a chestnut colt by Drosselmeyer consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 last Thursday. He’s out of Apple Strudel, by More Than Ready, from the family of graded stakes winner Elaborate.
Hip No. 727, a bay colt by Adios Charlie consigned by Ocala Stud, was sold to L R K, Inc. for $420,000. Out of Almost a Valentine, by High Cotton, a half sister to grade one stakes winner Rigoletta, he sped a quarter in :21 1/5 at the Thursday’s Under Tack session.
Hip No. 608, a daughter of Big Drama consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, whose quarter in :20 3/5 was the sale’s fastest work at the distance, went to Linda Rice, Agent, for $410,000. The dark bay or brown filly is out of stakes placed Twilight Mirage, by Jeblar, and is a half sister to stakes winner Determinato.
East – West Stable went to $350,000 for Hip No. 873, a gray or roan Colonel John colt who worked a quarter in :21 flat at the Friday Under Tack session. Consigned by Richardson Bloodstock, Agent, he’s out of stakes placed Chocolate Pop, by Cuvee.
Hip No 833, son of Uncle Mo consigned by Ocala Stud, was purchased for $320,000 by L.E.B. The bay colt, a half brother to champion OBS graduate Musical Romance out of Candlelightdinner, by Slew Gin Fizz, breezed a quarter in :21 3/5 last Friday.
Hip No. 746, a bay colt by Discreet Cat consigned by Randy Bradshaw, Agent, was sold for $300,000 to Charles Chu. Out of A. P. Cindy, by A. P. Indy, a half sister to graded stakes winner Romansh, he breezed an eighth on Thursday in :10 flat.
Hip No. 876, a daughter of Unbridled’s Song consigned by S G V Thoroughbreds (Steven Venosa), Agent, was purchased for $300,000 by John C. Kimmel, Agent for Tobey L. Morton. The gray or roan filly, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in: 10 2/5 last Friday, is out of stakes winner Church Camp, by Forest Camp, a half sister to stakes placed Jodys Deelite.
For the session, 164 horses sold for a total of $15,224,000, compared with 195 horses selling for a total of $15,854,000 at last year’s second session. The average price was $92,829, up 14.2% compared with $81,303 a year ago, while the median price was $50,000, compared with last year’s $52,000 figure. The buyback percentage was 26.5%; it was 18.4% last year.
The Spring Sale’s fourth and final session begins Friday at 10:30 a.m.
