Hip No. 145, consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, is a Pioneerof the Nile filly purchased by EQB, Inc., Agent for Zayat Stables LLC, for $87,000. The bay yearling filly is out of Cinnamon Kisses, by Doneraile Court, a half sister to graded stakes winner The Mailet.
Hip No. 44, Pyrite Final, a 9-year-old mare by Formal Dinner in foal to Kantharos consigned by Boutte Sales, Agent, went to Harris Training Center LLC for $80,000. The bay mare, out of Pink Forest, by Green Forest, from the family of Derby contender OBS graduate El Kabeir, is a half sister to stakes winner Forest Picnic and the dam of the stakes placed 3-year-old Morgans Harbour.

The chestnut colt is out of graded stakes placed stakes winner Lentil, by Alphabet Soup, a daughter of stakes placed Black Tie Diamond.
Hip No. 121, Just Like Pop, a 3-year-old daughter of Unbridled’s Song consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, Inc., Agent, went to Rustlewood Farm, Inc. for $70,000. The dark bay or brown filly is out of stakes winner Amazing Buy, by High Yield, a half sister to Sovereign Award winning graded stakes winner Alpha Bettor.
Hip No. 179, a yearling son of Kantharos consigned by Andy Cant, Agent, was sold for $70,000 to Southern Chase Farm, Inc. The bay colt is out of Granny’s Kat, by Sanctuary, a half sister to stakes winner Comet Cat.
For the Consignor Preferred session, 124 horses sold for a total of $2,462,200, compared with 154 horses grossing $2,962,700 in 2014. The average price was $19,856, compared with $19,238 a year ago, while the median price was $10,600 compared with $15,000 last year. The buyback percentage was 21%; down from 31.9% last year.
The Winter Mixed Sale continues Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the Open Session, followed immediately by the Horses of Racing Age section.
