Preston Stables LLC’s 7-year-old Flat Out is still going strong, getting up in the final yards to win Belmont’s $147, 000 Westchester Stakes (G3) by a head, running the mile distance in a rapid 1:32 4/5. It’s the fourth graded stakes win for the Florida-bred son of Flatter, whose four for four record at Belmont Park includes back to back wins in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1).  Now 23-7-4-3 with earnings of $2,660,883, he was sold for $11,000 as a weanling by Thoroughstock, Agent, at the 2006 OBS Fall Mixed Sale.

Richard L. Davis’s Master Rick picked up his first graded stakes win in the $200,000 Texas Mile Stakes (G3) at Lone Star on Saturday, taking charge inside the final furlong and drawing clear to win by a length and a quarter.  Fellow OBS graduate Good Lord (June ’09) checked in third. It’s the second stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred colt by Master Command, a two time OBS graduate, sold by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2010 August Sale before being purchased for $47,000 out of the D S B Stable consignment at the 2011 April Sale. The win gives him a 16-4-1-2 record and earnings of $351,363. watch his under tack video

William Stiritz’s Algonquin Posse took command of Saturday’s $88,800 Third Chance Handicap at Hawthorne on the turn and then drew away from there, sailing to a 4-1/4 length victory. It’s the first stakes win for the 5-year-old daughter of Posse, now 17-6-5-2 with earnings of $267,604. She was sold for $18,000 by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2009 OBS August Sale.
