Distinctiv Passion, Clawback win stakes at Santa Anita, Aqueduct

Edward J.  Brown, Jr., Alan Klein, Alan and Phillip Lebherz’s Distinctiv Passion set rapid fractions on the lead in Monday’s $75, 460 San Pedro Stakes at Santa Anita before cruising to his first stakes victory by a length and a half.  That’s three straight wins for the 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by With Distinction, sold first by Kaizen Sales, Agent for Plumley Farms at the 2011 OBS January Sale before bringing $65,000 when purchased out of the Kim Harrison consignment at the 2011 OBS August Sale. He’s now 5-3-0-1 and has earned $120,600.

Klaravich Stables Inc. and William H. Lawrence’s Clawback jumped from a December maiden win into the $73,500 Jimmy Winkfield Stakes at Aqueduct on Monday and the 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Put It Back ran off to a five length victory. A two time OBS graduate, he was sold first by TdM Sales (Tristan and Valery de Meric), Agent at the 2011 January Sale before being sold for $70,000 by Blas Perez, Agent for Blue Top Holdings Stable at the 2012 April Sale.
